Coca Cola’s CEO James Quincey is vigorously challenging Georgia’s new voter law. Quincey’s official statement posted at the Coca Cola website does not provide specific reasons for Quincey’s opposition. It appears that his opposition is for leftist woke reasons that are inconsistent with the language of the Georgia statute. Quincey is pushing for the U.S. Senate to pass H.R. 1 “For The People LOL” act which would exacerbate voter fraud across the nation, infringe upon free speech, establish an unconstitutional federal takeover of the election process and force taxpayers to fund political campaigns.
How bad are the leftists’ lies regarding Georgia’s new voter law? It’s bad enough that The Washington Post, perhaps the most liberal news paper in America, gave Joe Biden FOUR Pinocchios for his lies about Georgia’s new voter law.
New York and Delaware, home states of Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden respectively, both have voter laws that are more restrictive than Georgia. Fox News published the following report titled: Georgia Republican teases Biden and Schumer, says voting law should be more restricted like Delaware, NY. The article states in part:
A Georgia lawmaker is proposing that his state align its voting laws with New York and Delaware's more restrictive regulations, an admitted "political stunt" designed to rebuke criticism from President Biden, who has lived in Delaware and served as one of its senators, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
In a Facebook post Monday, Republican state Rep. Wes Cantrell wrote that he would be introducing "The President Joe Biden Jim Crow on Steroids Voting Act" and "The Senator Chuck Schumer 'Racist Voter Suppression' Voting Act" – both referring to phrases the Democratic politicians used to bash Georgia's law.
Cantrell's post highlighted how New York and Delaware have stricter limits on the number of early voting days, as well as eligibility for who could cast absentee ballots.
Rasmussen Reports found that 75% of Americans support voter ID laws in its March 23, 2021 report.
Clearly Coca Cola’s rabid opposition to Georgia’s new voter law and ardent support for H.R.1 is out of touch with 75 percent of American voters who want election results to be fair and trustworthy. Therefore, it appears that Coca Cola is aligned with the woke left’s power grab to enact election laws that allow voting tactics which wrongfully favor Democrats.
Donald Trump speaks out on Coca Cola and other companies trying to intimidate Georgia officials and other states that are tightening voter laws. Newsweek reports in part:
Former President Donald Trump on April 3, 2021 called for boycotts of companies who have spoken out against the new Georgia voting laws. These include Major League Baseball, Delta Airlines, ViacomCBS, Coca-Cola, UPS and others.
Trump said "radical left Democrats" have threatened to boycott products for several years, and now the left is "going big time with WOKE CANCEL CULTURE." He said it's time for Republicans to reciprocate the sentiment. "It is finally time for Republicans and Conservatives to fight back—we have more people than they do—by far! Boycott Major League Baseball (MLB), Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck," the statement read. "Don't go back to their products until they relent. We can play the game better than them."
Coca Cola certainly has a right to support leftist public policies that enable voter fraud that benefits leftist candidates. You have the same right to express your concerns on the issue and choose to patronize soft drink companies that do not support such irresponsible public policies.
