Expedia stops advertising on Al Jazeera America.  Emails to their advertisers appear to have made the difference.

Expedia appears to have stopped advertising on Al Jazeera America after Florida Family Association targeted several of the companies that advertised at Expedia.com.  Expedia has not advertised on Al Jazeera America since May 25, 2014.

Expedia.com was the first Fortune 1000 company to advertise on Al Jazeera America since October 6, 2013.  Florida Family Association’s communications and email alerts have influenced One Hundred Fifty Six (156) companies to stop advertising on Al Jazeera America since January 2013.

Florida Family Association sent out several email alerts regarding Expedia.com advertising support for Al Jazeera America.  Thousands of people sent emails that urged Expedia to stop advertising.  More concerned Americans sent emails to Expedia.com than on average watch the channel each week.  However, Expedia.com continued to advertise on Al Jazeera America. 

Florida Family Association responded to Expedia's continued advertising by launching numerous online campaigns that encouraged thousands of concerned Americans to send emails that educated many companies that do business with Expedia.com regarding their passion for Jihad TV.  The prepared emails for FFA's supporters also encouraged such companies to discontinue advertising at Expedia.com.

Kay Jewelers, Monster.com and Soma all stopped advertising at Expedia.com after Florida Family Association launched email campaigns which targeted them as advertisers with Expedia.  Florida Family Association also targeted several other companies and was planning to launch more online campaigns.  Expedia stopped advertising shortly after Kay Jewelers, Monster.com and Soma stopped advertising on their site.

Al Jazeera is a news company that is owned by the non-democratic, monarch styled emirate of Qatar who does not afford citizens freedom of the press, espouses Islamic Sharia law, backs the head of Hamas and supports the Muslim Brotherhood.  Qatar is a Muslim-majority country with Islam as the state religion.   Qatar is ruled by an emir who has been very adept at using Islamists, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, to promote his country’s interests and bolster his own domestic legitimacy.  AL Jazeera journalists that are imprisoned in Egypt for allegedly supporting the Muslim Brotherhood were denied bail on March 31, 2014.  The Qatari-owned media company Al-Jazeera saw 22 members of its staff in Egypt resign on Monday over what they allege was “biased coverage” of the events that unfolded in Cairo last week (July 2, 2013).

Florida Family Association tapes ten hours of programing on Al Jazeera America every day.  The Florida Family Association office communicates with each advertiser no less than once per week.  Top advertisers are strategically featured one at a time because there are so few of them. Florida Family Association is committed to this project for as long as Al Jazeera America is on the air.
