The Hollywood Reporter headline states Dozens Laid Off at Al Jazeera America and subhead line reports The cable news network is disbanding its sports unit and scaling back its social media program, "The Stream." Click here to read the entire article at Hollywoodreporter.com.
Al Jazeera is a news company that is owned by a non-democratic, monarch styled emirate who does not afford citizens freedom of the press, espouses Islamic Sharia law, backs the leader of Hamas and supports the Muslim Brotherhood. Al Jazeera, headquartered in the Middle East (Doha, Qatar), purchased the CurrentTV channel at the end of 2012 and officially changed its name to Al Jazeera America on August 20, 2013.
Florida Family Association has focused on influencing companies to stop advertising on Al Jazeera America since January 14, 2013 with the goal of PREVENTING:
-
American consumer dollars from supporting this Hamas – Muslim Brotherhood supporting Jihad TV in the United States.
-
American corporations from affirming this network with their sponsorship.
Florida Family Association tapes ten hours of programing on Al Jazeera America every day. The Florida Family Association office communicates with each advertiser no less than once per week. Top advertisers are strategically featured one at a time because there are so few of them. The RESULTS of Florida Family Association’s efforts:
-
133 companies stopped advertising on Al Jazeera America after the Florida Family Association office communicated with the companies’ CEOs and Marketing VPs.
-
22 companies stopped advertising after Florida Family Association supporters sent tens of thousands of emails in response to online email campaigns at Floridafamily.org.
-
A total of 155 companies stopped advertising after receiving emails from the Florida Family Association office or after receiving thousands of emails from Florida Family Association supporters.
-
Not one Fortune 500 company has advertised on Al Jazeera America since Florida Family Association’s email campaigns and airplane banners influenced Procter & Gamble to stop advertising on October 6, 2013. Only one Fortune 1000 company, Expedia.com, has advertised.
-
Less than ten companies have advertised during any one week since October 6, 2013. Approximately fifty companies advertised each week when Florida Family Association started contacting advertisers of the then named Current TV channel in January 2013. All but one of the ten current advertisers are very small companies.
All major cable and satellite companies are carrying Al Jazeera America. These television providers along with other media are being paid hundreds of millions of dollars by Al Jazeera to promote the American channel. Making an issue of or focusing efforts on one cable company or one promotional forum broadcasting or promoting Al Jazeera America would have little impact
However, influencing companies to stop advertising on Al Jazeera America will have an impact. Significantly reducing the American consumer dollars that would have supported Jihad TV and the number of American corporations that would have affirmed this network should make a difference.
No advertising dollars for Al Jazeera America means no revenue to cover the American division’s operations and no advertising dollars for the cable companies. How long will the channel or cable companies continue under that scenario?
Florida Family Association is committed to this project for as long as Al Jazeera America is on the air.
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Florida Family Association’s email campaigns regarding Al Jazeera America. Your support is making a difference. Thank you.
