Al Jazeera America is owned by Al Jazeera, the Arabic news television channel headquartered in the Middle East (Doha, Qatar.) Al Jazeera purchased the Current TV channel from Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, Ronald Burkle, Comcast and DirecTV in December 2012. Current TV officially changed their name to Al Jazeera America on September 1, 2013.
Al Jazeera, whose leaders espouse hate for Israel, who showed disdain for Paris murder victims, is a news company that is owned by the non-democratic, monarch styled emirate of Qatar who allows wealthy citizens to financially support ISIS, supports the Muslim Brotherhood, backs the head of Hamas, espouses Islamic Sharia law and does not afford citizens freedom of the press. Qatar is a Muslim-majority country with Islam as the state religion. Qatar is ruled by an emir who has been very adept at using Islamists, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, to promote his country’s interests and bolster his own domestic legitimacy.
The Wall Street Journal reported on January 6, 2013 Inconvenient Truths About Al Jazeera. “More due diligence might have included a review of the close journalistic coverage over the years of Al Jazeera's Arabic and English broadcasts, which discloses the unsurprising fact that the network reflects the interests of the government that runs it—making it akin to Vladimir Putin's Russia Today and Beijing's Xinhua. The emir of Qatar, Hamid bin Khalifa Al Thani, appointed his cousin as chairman of Al Jazeera. The emir was last in the news for donating $400 million to Hamas, a terrorist organization.”
Bill O’Reilly said on his January 30, 2015 Fox News program “Al Jazeera is a lobbying group for the Islamic Jihad. Of all the media in the world this is the most favorable one to terrorism.”
National Review reported on January 27, 2015: Shortly after news broke of a deadly January 27 attack by Islamic terrorists on a hotel in Libya’s capital, Al Jazeera English executive Carlos van Meek shot out an email to his employees. “All: We manage our words carefully around here,” the network’s head of output wrote to staff at the Doha-based news channel’s New York and Washington, D.C. newsrooms. “So I’d like to bring to your attention some key words that have a tendency of tripping us up.” In an email obtained by National Review Online, van Meek warned the network’s journalists against the use of terms including “terrorist,” “militant,” “Islamist” and “jihad.” “One person’s terrorist is another person’s freedom fighter,” the Al Jazeera executive wrote. The word “extremist” was labeled off-limits. “Avoid characterizing people,” van Meek said. “Often their actions do the work for the viewer.”
The Washington Times reported on December 10, 2014 Qatar allows money to flow to Islamic State, other terrorists. “Qatar-based terror finance challenges have metastasized into a pressing, world-class crisis,” states the report by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, warning the flow of money from private individuals in the Persian Gulf nation is likely only to continue without a “serious change in U.S. policy.”
Fox News reported on January 10, 2015 Leaked Al Jazeera emails reveal disdain for Paris murder victims. “Defending freedom of expression in the face of oppression is one thing; insisting on the right to be obnoxious and offensive just because you can is infantile,” wrote Khadr, quoting Time magazine, as he urged Al Jazeera staffers to consider that “I am Charlie” is an “alienating slogan – with us or against us type of statement – one can be anti-CH’s racism and ALSO against murdering people.”
Adweek.com reported on April 28, 2015: Two Al Jazeera America executives voluntarily resigned after Matthew Luke filed a lawsuit against Al Jazeera America and Osman Mahmud, vice president at the network. Luke claimed Mahmud created a hostile work environment and was prone to “making discriminatory, anti-Semitic and anti-American remarks such as ‘whoever supports Israel should die a fiery death in hell.'”
Theblaze.com reported on August 7, 2014 Wait Until You See What a Media Watchdog Caught Al Jazeera Reporters Saying About Hamas and Israel. A new study examining the Arabic social media postings of Al Jazeera correspondents demonstrates how some of the on-air personalities at the network praised Hamas’ actions in its terrorist campaign against Israel over the past month and even seemed to call for the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel.
The Washington Times reported on July 9, 2013 ‘We aired lies’: Al-Jazeera staff quit over biased Egypt coverage. AL Jazeera journalists that are imprisoned in Egypt for allegedly supporting the Muslim Brotherhood were denied bail on March 31, 2014. The Qatari-owned media company Al-Jazeera saw 22 members of its staff in Egypt resign on Monday over what they allege was “biased coverage” of the events that unfolded in Cairo during the week of July 2, 2013.
Aljazeera.com reported on April 1, 2013 that Qatar supported the re-election of Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal. Khaled Mashaal said that the “Zionists are enemies of Allah and the prophets, and called for preparing to liberate Jerusalem and restore the homeland once more through jihad, the rifle, and self-sacrifice” during a speech in Cairo on October 3, 2012. Khaled Meshaal lives in Qatar.
Alarabiya.net reported on July 9, 2013: We aired lies: Al Jazeera staff quit over misleading Egypt coverage. As many as 22 Al Jazeera employees have quit since the overthrow of Mohammad Mursi, amid concern over the channel’s alleged bias towards the Muslim Brotherhood and its coverage of Egypt. Criticism over the channel’s editorial line, the way it covered events in Egypt, and allegations that journalists were instructed to favor the Brotherhood are said to be the main reasons behind the mass resignations. As many as 22 Al Jazeera staff resigned on Monday, Gulf News reported, but other media said only seven had left the broadcaster. Al Jazeera correspondent Haggag Salama resigned accusing the station of “airing lies and misleading viewers”, Gulf News reported. The newspaper also said that four Egyptian members of editorial staff at the network’s headquarters in Doha had resigned in protest.

Leftist/Jihadist Alliance: Al Jazeera acquires Current TV
The following report comes from Jihadwatch.org
|
As I noted earlier today, Al-Jazeera has been dubbed "the most powerful voice of the Muslim Brotherhood." And Pamela Geller has noted that "Al Jazeera is the leading terrorist propaganda organization in the world. Jihad murder mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki has praised Al Jazeera, and several years ago one of its most prominent reporters was arrested on terror charges. Al Jazeera also has for years been the recipient of numerous Al Qaeda videos featuring bin Laden, Zawahiri, and American traitor Adam Gadahn. Yet they never seem to be able to trace where these videos are coming from. They have repeatedly been set up at the point of attack right before a bomb went off, so that they could take the picture of the slaughtered, dismembered bodies."
The Left and the jihadis have been cooperating for years. This makes their alliance official.
"Al Jazeera Acquires Current TV," by Brian Stelter for the New York Times, January 2 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
6:48 p.m. | Updated Al Jazeera on Wednesday completed a deal to take over Current TV, the low-rated cable channel that was founded by Al Gore and his business partners seven years ago.
Current will provide the pan-Arab news giant with something it has sought for years: a pathway into American living rooms. Current is available in about 60 million of the 100 million homes in the United States with cable or satellite service.
Rather than simply use Current to distribute its English-language channel, called Al Jazeera English and based in Doha, Qatar, Al Jazeera will create a new channel, called Al Jazeera America, based in New York. Roughly 60 percent of the programming will be produced in the United States, while the remaining 40 percent will come from Al Jazeera English.
