DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Phoenix-Tempe will host CAIR Arizona's banquet on November 30, 2024. CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, is a rabid supporter of Hamas, has extensive links to terrorism and routinely promotes hatred against the Jewish people.
CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad publicly supports Hamas. Awad spoke at the American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) convention in Chicago on November 24, 2023, saying: "The people of Gaza only decided to break the siege, the walls of the concentration camp, on October 7. And yes, I was happy to see people breaking the siege and throwing down the shackles of their own land, and walk free into their land, which they were not allowed to walk in. And yes, the people of Gaza have the right to self-defense, have the right to defend themselves, and yes, Israel, as an occupying power, does not have that right to self-defense."
This is not the first time Nihad Awad proclaimed his support for Hamas. Awad publicly declared "I am in support of the Hamas movement," during a March 1994 symposium at Barry University. He said “I used to support the PLO, and I used to be the President of the General Union of Palestine Students which is part of the PLO here in the United States, but after I researched the situation inside Palestine and outside, I am in support of the Hamas movement more than the PLO.”
Dr. Fidaa Wishah, the special guest speaker for the banquet, is a vicious anti-Semite that promotes hate against the Jewish people.
Newsweek published a report title 'Thirst to Kill': U.S. Pediatric Doctor Fired for Accusing Israel of 'Cannibalism.' The article reports in part:
Pediatric Radiologist Dr. Fidaa Wishah was fired from Phoenix Children's Hospital over a May 26 Facebook post that resurfaced in a screenshot shared by the account @StopAntisemites last Monday. Wishah, who emigrated to the U.S. from Gaza, predicted the "collapse" of Israel while accusing the Jewish state of harboring a "thirst to kill" Palestinian children.
"We will expose the #massacre and #geoncide you #zionists are proud of," Wishah wrote in the Facebook post. "We will uncover your thirst to kill our Palestinian children."
Wishah's comment about a "thirst to kill our Palestinian children" and the allegation of cannibalism are reminiscent of a key component of anti-Semitism that emerged in the Middle Ages and endured until the time of Nazi Germany and beyond. The "blood libel" was a baseless and false conspiracy theory claiming that Jewish people murdered Christian children and consumed their blood.
CAIR Arizona is honoring Dr. Fidaa Wishah as the banquet’s special guest speaker because of her public and prolific Jew hatred.
